Subsurface has been a passion of mine for three months now and it's great to see the engagement you guys give the records. I get up early on Fridays to make sure you're first to know, sometimes so early the platforms haven't even released the tracks and I have to wait to grab the links 😅.
This week I'm asking for something from you. As I look at the next steps for Subsurface, I'd really value your opinion, so I've put together a quick survey. Two minutes of your time and your input will directly shape what comes next.
Let's get into it.
Record of the Week — MUCKANIKS - BRB
MUCKANIKS is someone I've been following for the past year and he's just dropped his debut EP, SDRB (Show Dem Rude Boi). He's making a name for himself with heavy cuts of UKG blended with rap/grime vocals, and this EP brings together some of his biggest singles to date. Check out Greedy, which now has a SoundCloud Exclusive VIP. BRB is the title track, a stripped-back, bassline-heavy number that will have you skanking.
Speaking of big EP drops, Soul Mass Transit System drops HAUSDOGS002 on ec2a. After the successful single release of Talking Nonsense, I've been vibin' with this groovy one: Deep In Underground Style.
It's been a big week for the bass face heads too. Kanetaker - Destructive blurs the lines between bassline and dubstep, and FOMɆɆN - Pop It brings us that warehouse-ready vibe with long, drawn-out basslines.
A standout free download lands this week too, Mitchell Watson - Madruga 2000. Great energy, well worth a click.
Plenty more to get your ears round below. Until next week.

FONZO @ MIXMAG LAB LONDON: Fonzo’s unreleased mix on SoundCloud was one of my go-to commuting mixes. It’s dark, low-slung techno with a addictive minimal bass energy. He’s absolutely one of my favourite producers at the moment and a MIXMAG set is long overdue. I’m at Tame Impala tonight, this will be my pre-drinks backdrop, try it out.
